Reception to Year 6

The Primary years are a foundational time for discovery and fun with learning...

They are also the years in which there is a strong focus on literacy, numeracy and basic skills in the curriculum. Our students are challenged to be resourceful and creative. They learn to work independently and also cooperatively in groups. Inquiry learning is a focus in these year levels.

Our Primary School students have access to the resources of the whole school – library, arts, media room, computing and sporting facilities – with Smart TVs  and electronic networking in every classroom. The BYOD (Bring your own device) iPad/ laptop Program provides contemporary, appropriate learning opportunities for all Year 3 to Yr 6 students.

Our Year 3 to Year 6 students extend their creativity and curiosity in many individualized learning opportunities through learning support and extension. We believe in giving agency to our learners -meaning they are active participants in designing learning experiences.

We aim to develop competencies in

  • Identity;
  • Collaboration;
  • Thinking and Questioning;
  • Managing Self;
  • Connecting and Reflecting:
  • Using The Language of Learning.

Our Reception to Year 6 teachers are innovative and professional. Specialist Teachers, Special Education Coordinator, Key Literacy Teacher  and support staff assist and extend students with special needs.

An Out of Hours School Care program operates daily from 7.15am - 8.30am and from dismissal time until 6:00pm at the School. This extension of the school day gives working parents added flexibility, while offering children the opportunity to enjoy recreational and creative activities under careful supervision.
