When children's friendships work out differently
Throughout the school years, we’ll find we won’t always agree with whom our children choose to spend their time – be it at school, or out of school. We want our children to ‘hang out’ with peers who will be a good influence. However, here’s some perspective. Certain children, like adults, make better choices than others; and some have better developed social skills than their friends. Think of them as ‘humans in training’.

At St Joseph’s School, we take cyber issues very seriously. The app Tik.Tok is one that we find quite concerning with our young students. As with most of the social media apps, they are aimed for people 13 years and older. This is because the content of the apps is better suited to people who have more maturity and an ability to use the social media sites safely. It is our desire and the desire of all parents to see their children fully develop into a healthy, successful, contributing member of society.
